What type of equipment do you use?


We use only Professional medium format cameras. Our cameras are Mamiya & Nikon for digital applications with a Metz flash. We carry a secondary Metz flash for multiple lighting situations that is triggered by an electronic remote.


Do you use back up equipment?

Yes. We only have one chance to capture the moment and we carry at least two of everything of the identical equipment. This is in case of damage or equipment failure.


Do you use color or black & white film?

We use color film that is later printed black & white if a particular effect is desired for certain pictures.


How long have you been in business?

We have been in business since 1975 professionally photographing weddings in the Cincinnati Tri-State area.


Do you work out of your home or studio?

We are a family business that added a studio room to our home in 1978 . We provide a relaxed setting for our clients while keeping our overhead costs down. Though a major portion of our work is on location, we have the ability to make engagement or family portraits in our studio room.


Where are you located?

We are located in the College Hill/Finneytown area. We are one block South of North Bend and Winton Road at 878 Oakfield Avenue Avenue.

How much of a deposit is required to hold my wedding date?

A 1/3 deposit is required to hold the wedding date. We then ask for the second payment 60 days prior to the wedding date. The final payment is due 30 days prior to photographing the wedding. Paying in advance of any due dates is always acceptable. This of course lessens any worry about finances after the wedding.


How much do you charge to photograph weddings?

Our packages are $695.oo to $1,495.00 which ranges from 4 to 8 hours of photographic coverage. We include a deluxe album with every package.


What type of payments do you accept?

We accept checks, cash, money orders, Visa, Mastercard, Discover & American Express.


Can we see samples of your work?

Yes. We encourage couples to make an appointment to view sample wedding albums of our work. This allows our clients to find out more about us and answer important questions for their special wedding day. We take appointments Monday thru Friday 9am to 9pm


How many pictures will you take at my wedding?

We take anywhere from 60 to 200 pictures depending on the package you select.


Do you sell the proofs?

Wallet previews are included with all five photographic plans. That means you will receive a copy of every picture we take.


What type of album products do you carry?

We only offer the top line of Art Leather and General Product albums. The albums are Perma Bound and White Curio. There is a wide selection of albums and insert colors to choose from with the Perma Bound style.


What type of dress code do you adhere to?

We dress in professional attire and blend in nicely with your guests wearing a suit & tie. Our female photographers also dress in an appropriate attire that would compliment any professional photographer.


Who will be photographing my wedding?

A majority of the time myself, my son Jim or daughters Joan or Jean will be photographing your wedding. Jim, Joan and Jean have grown up in the business and each have been photographing professionally for 13 years They are uniquely familiar with wedding poses, protocol, tradition, and religious practices. You may request a particular photographer if they are not currently assigned. In the event that the family photographers are not available, an equally professional staff photographer will represent Craycroft Studios to our high standards.


Who does your color printing?

After using several color labs we made the business decision to purchase commercial processing equipment to develop our own color prints. This gave us the quality control we desired and eventually reduced our overhead cost. We have the ability to create all sizes from wallets to 20x24 color prints. We continue to use Burell Color Labs as a secondary source for special effects or custom photographs.


How does your internet proofing and purchases work?

Once the bride & groom receive their print proofs (approximately 3 weeks after the wedding) we scan and post the proofs to the Internet under our domain name: craycroftstudios.com The pictures are available for friends and relatives to view and/or order online via a secure server. The Bride & Groom will be given the password to gain access. We typically leave the pictures online for approximately 60 days from the proof pick up date. Extensions of time can be requested by the Bride and Groom. This is a value added service provided for our clients. There is no additional cost associated for this service.


Do you offer any other types of services?

We offer wedding videos to any of our clients that we photograph. This service is available for $495.00 VHS format or $595.00 DVD format. We use only professional digital equipment that produces a high quality recording. The coverage includes the wedding ceremony and reception. The video once edited run typically for 75 to 120 minutes. In addition to wedding photography, we offer family portraits on location or in our studio. We also photograph pre-bridal and engagement portraits.


Are you a member of any Associations?

Yes. We belong to
WPPI (Wedding Portrait Photographers International) They are a national organization that subscribes to the highest standards of wedding and portrait standards. They provide monthly literature, seminars, and annual convention for which we participate.


Do you have a referral incentive program?

Yes. A majority of our business is by referral from friends and family. We like to show our appreciation to couples by providing a complimentary 8x10 from their wedding day or a current photograph that is taken at their friends reception. So if you have been referred by a friend, please tell us in advance of your wedding date. Certainly we will provide this same incentive to you for sending your friend and family to photograph their special day.


Can I receive a copy of your package description and pricing?
